Publisher Description
Master organic chemistry nomenclature through interactive lessons, molecule-building exercises, challenges, and practice tests.
Learn IUPAC naming step by step with over 70 levels designed for high school chemistry, AP Chemistry, and introductory organic chemistry students. Instead of memorizing rules, you'll actively build, analyze, and name molecules yourself in an interactive chemistry training.
FEATURES
Interactive tutorials that teach nomenclature from the ground up, with a organic chemistry quiz!
Over 70 levels covering the organic chemistry nomenclature of hydrocarbons:
. Alkanes
. Alkenes
. Alkynes
. Alcohols
. Aldehydes
. Ketones
Learn in both directions:
. Match molecules to names
. Match names to molecular structures
. Draw molecules from given names
. Name molecules you create yourself
Chemistry tutorials:
In levels that introduce new o chem concepts, there are chemistry tutorials explaining you exactly how to master the level.
Creative Mode:
Build your own organic molecules and let the app generate the correct IUPAC name instantly. Perfect for experimenting, checking homework, or exploring nomenclature rules.
Practice Tests:
Challenge yourself with tests that help you check your progress and identify topics that need more practice.
Visual learning aids:
Color-coded highlights show which parts of a molecule correspond to specific parts of its IUPAC name. Use the molecule builder to create a molecule, then see how it is named!
Hide names and for chemistry challenges and for additional organic chemistry practice.
Planetary Nomenclature Neptune is designed to make learning organic chemistry more engaging, intuitive, and interactive than traditional memorization methods.
Additional supported structures include halogen alkanes and carboxylic acids. Ring structures are not currently supported.
Whether you're preparing for AP Chemistry, studying organic chemistry (ochem) at school for exam prep or doing university chemistry, or you are simply interested in learning chemical nomenclature, this app provides a practical and interactive way to master IUPAC naming.
It's a fun learning game!
